I presented my Junior Biology Seminar Project. I am SOOO relieved. LOL. The Evolution of Wheat and its contribution to our society. LOL. Can anyone say BORING? Anyway, it went pretty well, I think, anyway...I hope....
My Ecology class took a trip to Georgetown. I hate to admit it, but it was fun. Including the part where Courtney and I waded out chest-deep in marshwater carrying a net. I'm sure Dr. Jensen wasn't expecting that one. HAHA! Courtney and I are the girliest girls in the class and most likely to be the whiniest.
Awesome!!! It's working now! HELLS YEAH!!! *ahem*
So...I spent 2.5 weeks in China. It was a really interesting experience and I'm really glad I went, but it's soooo good to be back in the good ole US of A, let me TELL you! LOL. Basically, just as long as I'm not eating frogs and swilling bile-flavored Chinese liquor, I'm good...and yes, it is pretty bad when you would swear by the aftertaste that you just threw up...except you know you didn't....
Oh, and HEAR this! My flight landed in Charlotte at 6 AM...by 10 AM I had showered, dressed, eaten, and was sitting in my Winthrop Organic Chemistry class. I didn't get home until 7 PM. How's that for dedication? Yeah, baby!
I also took a KAPLAN MCAT course this summer. It was much-needed, trust me!
Hm...what else....
This summer I was pretty busy with classes, but I did find time for some Shinedown concerts.
Steph, Song and I went to see Shinedown and SOiL at the Tremont Music Hall on June 9. Shinedown was awesome, as usual, but OMG SOiL is awesome as well. We had NO idea! Not only that, but we got to meet and take pics w/ 3 of the 5 members of SOiL before Shinedown came out. Adam Zadel is SOOOOOO hot. And SOOOO nice! :-D After the concert we took pics w/ all 4 members of Shinedown. They were sooo incredibly nice! Afterwards, we went back to my house and Justin came over to eat dinner with us.
On June 10, Song, Justin, Emily, Chase and I went to see Shinedown and SOiL AGAIN at the Myrtle Beach House of Blues. On the way down, Justin made up this game in which he took my Password cards and gave clues in which he dissed Chase. It was GREAT. HAHA! Song and I got our pics developed at Walmart just before the show so that we could get them signed. It was awesome. Song went before me and she laid her pic on the table for Shinedown to sign. Brent Smith picked it up nonchalantly...then stopped and stared at it, then looked up and stared at us. He was like, "HOLY SHIT! You were at the concert last night!" It was great. :-D
The weekend before I had to be back at Converse, Song and I took a trip to The Outerbanks and VA for Lunatic Luau. We went to Kitty Hawk and spent time at the beach. It was really nice. We stayed there two nights and then went to Corolla before heading up to Norfolk. At Corolla, we took a trip to see the wild mustangs.
Song (refering to the mustangs): How can you tell if they are boys or girls?
Tour guide: It's the equipment, dear.
We went to Norfolk and spent some time in our hotel's pool and ate some YUMMY she-crab soup. The next morning we went to Lunatic Luau VIII and saw some awesome bands perform. Shinedown, Otep, Breaking Benjamin, Crossfade, Future Leaders of the World, Drowning Pool, Pillar, Superjoint Ritual, Saliva, Slipknot, etc. It was awesome. We got a bunch of autographs, including more Shinedown autographs and a poster signed by 4 members of Slipknot. It was awesome. I hated to come back to Converse. LOL.

Hey y'all!!!
I'm writing this from the 16th floor of the Tibet Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan (Szechuan) province, China. I'll blog my trip once I return stateside, but I just wanted to post so that all of you know that I'm alive and well. :-D I'm so excited. I'm going to go see the pandas tomorrow. :-D I can even pick one up and take pics with it for a price. YAY!!!
I'm also excited because I can now go back to eating solid foods! That was one nasty bout w/ food poisoning. I was sick every 30 mins from 6PM-6AM the night before last...and to make things worse, I had to get up the next morning (yesterday) and catch a plane from Xi'an to Chengdu. Dumpling dinner (while generally delicious)=not good (at least 20 people got food poisoning).
Oh, man, you shoulda seen the dentist's office in rural China yesterday. SCARY. I have a pic, once I get it developed. I've enjoyed this trip, but I can't wait to get back to good ole SC. (Too many Yankees on this trip :-P). June 8 @ 6 AM, baby!
I hope all y'all are doing well. I MISS YOU!!! Updates later.

Tell me what you really think of me:

P.S. You have my permission to be honest. To tell you the truth, I think that the people whose results have been averaged really don't know me that well.
Ok, well, Spring Term is over with and I've checked out of my dorm. Naturally, Dr. Jensen hasn't posted grades yet, but everyone else has. IDC (Western Civ): A, German Literature: A-, Physiology: A-. Current cumulative GPA: 3.798.
I'm leaving for Los Angeles tomorrow. I'm meeting the Internation Mission on Medicine team Sunday morning at the departure gate, then it's off to China for 16 days. I'll miss you all, and I'll be sure to let you know about my trip. :-D
Ok, y'all. I have a lot of post...don't know how much I'll get to.
First things first, though
SHINEDOWN!!! OMG!!! The concert was INCREDIBLE! Perfect Angel and her friend from work, JLo, Alice in Wonderland, Bannaner, and CountryBoy met me at Converse and we headed down to the Handlebar. We got our tickets and then went to Chik-fil-A for dinner.
As the car driven by Bannaner pulled into the parking lot, I looked up the incline at the tourbus parked next to the Handlebar...and saw a man outside talking on a cell phone. I immediately recognized him! I was like, "Y'all, that's Barry, Shinedown's drummer!" I looked up at him and the look on my face was like =-0! I was in awe!!! And he saw us, smiled and waved!!!
Another brush w/ celebrity: We were walking into the listening room of the Handlebar and there were a lot of people trying to go in, but there was this one guy dressed in a black Silvertide shirt and wearing a black Shinedown ballcap waiting to step out, so I let him through and really didn't think anything of it, except that he looked up at me and said, "Thank you." As I was walking in, I was like, "He looks so familiar...he looks a lot like Brad from Shinedown...wait a minute...NO WAY!!! OMG!!!" Well, later on, when Shinedown came out, I saw Brad wearing a black Silvertide shirt, so I think it may have been him. YAY!
Quarterfly opened for Shinedown and they were pretty good. CountryBoy pointed out that the lead singer of quarterfly looked stoned and had a strong resemblance to Willy Wonka. The drummer was really cute. Perfect angel had a thing for the guitarist.
Shinedown really rocked. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, even Perfect Angel, who doesn't like rock music. Brent Smith is even hotter in person. He's so gorgeous and sexy!!! WOW! And I just KNEW Perfect Angel would like Jasin Todd. She couldn't keep her eyes off of him b/c he was so beautiful! LOL.
After the concert we went to a suite at the Holiday Inn and ordered pizza. I am a Connie, so it can be assumed by all Converse girls reading this that I am a good Converse girl and would never do anything against the Civitas and Honor Codes...
However...if I were to, hypothetically speaking, compromise my morals, there might have been some alcohol involved. And in this stash of imaginary alcohol, there could have been, hypothetically of course, some Bailey's, Tequila Rose, Absolut, Midori Melon Liqueur and Sour Mix. And if we had had this stash, one could imagine that we would have been quite tired and wouldn't have, hypothetically speaking, drunk very much. This, of course, is absurd, for would I really break Converse rules?
After eating pizza and talking for a bit, Perfect Angel, her friend, and CountryBoy left. The conversation got a bit more...explicit...after they left. Then we went to bed. AWESOME night! :-D
